FAQ's for Auto Accidents
Auto Accidents Menu
Will my auto insurance cover my medical bills?
YES. In Pennsylvania, all auto insurance policies must have a minimum of $5,000 in medical coverage (your policy may have more). This means that if your medical bills are less than $5,000, then your bills will be covered at 100%. This is regardless of who is at fault for the accident. We understand insurance can be confusing. If you have any questions about insurance coverage, please give our office a call and we can walk you through it.
What if the accident is NOT my fault?
Pennsylvania is a no-fault state, meaning that regardless of fault, your own auto insurance will be the primary insurance for your medical bills. If the accident was NOT your fault and your medical expenses exhaust your primary insurance coverage, and you need additional medical care, there are options available. Please call our office and we can assist you.
Will my insurance premiums go up if I receive medical treatment?
NO. While auto insurers do consider driving record, they do not consider medical expenses when adjusting your premium.
Do I need a referral from my medical doctor?
NO. A referral is not necessary. You may call and schedule an appoinment at any time.
Do I need an Attorney?
It's up to you. Our only goal at Wexford Chiropractic Spine and Injury Center is helping you recover from your injuries, we do NOT give legal advice. If you want legal advice, we can provide you with a list of attorneys that handle these types of cases. If you already have a personal injury attorney, we will gladly work with them.
